We Hire Slowly and Well.
South Haven is a small, deliberate organization built to last generations. We invest in human capital — our own team included. The people who join us are expected to think like owners, act with discretion, and take genuine pride in the work of building something enduring.
Financial Management Analyst
About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Management Analyst to join our tight-knit team in a full-time hybrid role based in Palm Beach, Florida. This position plays a central role in the financial oversight of the family's commercial real estate portfolio, operating businesses, and investment partnerships.
This is not a back-office role. The right candidate will think critically, challenge assumptions, and bring genuine intellectual ownership to the work — understanding that the numbers they produce directly shape decisions affecting a family's legacy across generations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial management activities across the family's commercial real estate holdings, operating businesses, and investment partnerships
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis including performance tracking, trend identification, variance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and scenario modeling
- Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements and consolidated reports across all asset classes
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of third-party investment managers with a critical eye toward risk, value creation, and alignment with family objectives
- Develop financial reports and dashboards that support decisions on acquisitions, dispositions, operations, and new commitments
- Collaborate with property managers, business operators, investment managers, and external advisors — while questioning data and assumptions to ensure robust, well-reasoned outcomes
- Support due diligence on new real estate investments, business acquisitions, and investment manager selections
- Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality in all financial matters
Qualifications
- Strong financial management experience across commercial real estate, operating businesses, or investment partnerships
- Exceptional critical thinking — able to analyze complex situations, challenge conventional assumptions, and develop well-reasoned insights
- Advanced analytical skills across multiple asset classes and entity structures
- Hands-on experience preparing and analyzing financial statements for real estate entities and operating companies
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and genuinely accountable for the quality of your work
- Proficiency with financial software and reporting tools; experience with real estate or investment management platforms is a strong plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
- Prior experience in commercial real estate finance, private equity, family office, or related investment services is highly desirable
A Note on Culture
South Haven is not a transactional environment. We are building something meant to last generations, and we hold ourselves — and the people who join us — to that standard.
We invest in our team the same way we invest in our portfolio: for the long term, with high conviction, and with a genuine belief that the right people compound in value over time. If you join South Haven, you will be treated as an owner, expected to think like one, and given the room to grow alongside the family's legacy.
Discretion, intellectual honesty, and genuine ownership of outcomes are not optional. They are the standard.
